Hi, I’m Martine Dardignac.

Founder. Strategist. Chaos coordinator turned celebration architect.

I build human-centered brands and experiences across weddings, hospitality, and creative business — grounded in culture, clarity, and capability.

The Capable Bride® is my personal brand and creative studio. It’s where the thinking, systems, and perspective behind everything I build come together.

This isn’t a services page. This is where you understand why I build, how I build, and what informs the work across the brands I’ve created.

I started The Capable Bride because I saw too many incredible people overwhelmed by the process of planning something meaningful—whether that was a wedding, a meal, or a business.

With a background in journalism, project management, and a lifetime of cultural experience, I bring order to the creative, and creativity to the logistical.

If you're here, it's because you're not doing ordinary. You're doing meaningful.

The Ecosystem

While this site is my personal hub, the work manifests through three distinct brands:

Wedding M.D.™ — precision wedding planning for modern, multicultural couples.
Taste Buds Required® — elevated Caribbean-inspired catering and hospitality.
The Vendor Lab™ — strategy, systems, and practical support for creative entrepreneurs.

Each solves a different problem, but they share a philosophy: thoughtful systems, cultural fluency, and people-first experiences.

My Background

I come from journalism and project management — two spaces that taught me how to ask better questions, build clear systems, and tell meaningful stories.

Over the last decade, I’ve built multiple businesses in creative industries by blending:

  • strategy with empathy,

  • structure with imagination, and

  • logistics with lived experience.

I care deeply about accessibility, inclusivity, and creating frameworks that actually support people and not just productivity.

This site is where that perspective lives.

My Perspective

Across weddings, food, and creative business, I approach work through a few guiding truths:

  • Culture isn’t a theme — it’s infrastructure.
It informs every moment, decision, and experience.

  • Planning is emotional labor.
Honoring that is as important as hitting the checklist.

  • Systems should support people, not burn them out.
Humane design matters as much as efficiency.

  • Leadership is quiet, intentional, and grounded in practice.
It’s not about flash — it’s about what works.

  • Joy is a metric.
Because celebrations should feel like celebrations.

  • Inclusivity without tokenism.
Everyone deserves to be seen — fully and respectfully.

Founder’s Note

“This business is a reflection of who I am—Haitian-American, planner, dreamer, realist. I built The Capable Bride to hold space for nuance: the joyful and the practical, the elegant and the efficient. If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit the ‘wedding industry mold’—you’re exactly why I’m here.”
