Hi, I’m Martine Dardignac.
Founder. Strategist. Operations leader who builds things that last.
I spent nine years at Microsoft as an Operations Program Manager — long enough to understand what it actually takes to run complex, high-stakes work at scale. Long enough to know that the frameworks matter, but the people inside them matter more.
When I left corporate to build my own businesses, I didn't leave operations behind. I took it with me — into weddings, food, hospitality, and creative entrepreneurship. And what I discovered is that the work is fundamentally the same: understand the system, find the gaps, design something that holds.
I'm Haitian-American, PMP-certified, and trained as a journalist at NYU. Those three things shape everything I do: I ask better questions, build clearer systems, and tell more honest stories than most people expect from someone in my industries.
The Capable Bride® is my personal brand and creative studio — where the thinking, perspective, and through-line behind all of it lives.
If you want to understand the thinking behind the work — the blog is where that lives. If you want to bring that thinking into your event or organization — the speaking and consulting page is the place to start.
The Ecosystem
The work lives across three businesses, each solving a different problem with the same foundation:
Wedding M.D.™ — precision wedding planning for modern, multicultural couples.
Taste Buds Required® — elevated Caribbean-inspired catering and hospitality.
The Vendor Lab™ — strategy, systems, and practical support for creative entrepreneurs.
Each solves a different problem, but they share a philosophy: thoughtful systems, cultural fluency, and people-first experiences.
My Background
18+ years of operations experience. Multiple industries. One consistent approach.
My career spans corporate tech, ad tech, weddings, food, and creative business consulting — not because I couldn't commit to one thing, but because complex, human-centered work looks remarkably similar regardless of context.
At Microsoft, I managed large-scale operational programs across teams and systems where the margin for error was low and the stakes were real. As a Technical Account Manager in ad tech, I translated technical complexity into client strategy. As a founder, I built three operating businesses — each with its own brand, customer base, and operational logic — while holding the systems architecture for all of them simultaneously.
That range isn't a liability. It's the credential.
I'm also M/WBE certified across multiple jurisdictions and hold federal trademarks for The Capable Bride® and Taste Buds Required®.

My Perspective
Across weddings, food, and creative business, I approach work through a few guiding truths:
-
Culture isn’t a theme — it’s infrastructure.
It informs every decision, every experience, every room I walk into. -
Planning is emotional labor.
Honoring that is as important as hitting the checklist. -
Systems should support people, not grind them down.
Humane design matters as much as efficiency. -
Leadership is quiet, intentional, and grounded in practice.
It’s not about flash — it’s about what works. -
Joy is a legitimate metric.
Because if a celebration doesn't feel like one, something went wrong upstream. -
Inclusivity without tokenism.
Everyone deserves to be seen — fully and respectfully.
These aren't abstract values. They show up in how I design workflows, how I run events, and what I push back on when something isn't working.
Founder’s Note
“This business is a reflection of who I am—Haitian-American, planner, dreamer, realist. I built The Capable Bride to hold space for nuance: the joyful and the practical, the elegant and the efficient. If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit the ‘wedding industry mold’—you’re exactly why I’m here.”
